1password 8 mac off appears offline

I'm getting the little red cloud icon with the slash through it, indicating that 1password is offline. When I click it to try to reconnect it just says its offline. I have internet and everything else is functioning on the computer.

I have tried checking for updates and restarting the computer, but it still doesn't work.

Anyone else run into this or know how to resolve it?

RESOLUTION: I was logged into multiple 1password accounts. One of them had been disabled for payment and that was causing this whole error. 1Password support helped me in diagnosing this.

I really wish the app would have told me such, or at least marked which account was offline.

Hello @lagreca! 👋

I'm sorry that you're seeing an offline indicator in the 1Password app on your Mac. Do you see an option labeled "Offline Items" in the sidebar in the app? If you do then then do see items list with issues after you click on that option? Stop here and let me know if you do. 

If you don't see "Offline Items" in the sidebar then make sure that your network, VPN, or security software isn't blocking any of the ports/domains that 1Password needs to communicate: 


If that still doesn't work, or you don't have any of those ports/domains blocked, then are you still able to log in to your 1Password account on 1Password.com (in the browser, not the app).

I do NOT see an "Offline Items" in the sidebar.  I don't block any outbound traffic (this is a home office network).  I even tested using a VPN to rule out my local network.  Same problem.  

I am able to login via the webUI.

Send a diagnostics report (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

You're right that error messaging could be improved in cases like this and we have an open work item to have the app produce a more relevant error message. Hopefully this can be implemented in the future.
