Question

1Password browser extension not working when a text field is inside a dialog (Material Web)

Hi,

I'm currently developing a website with https://material-web.dev, and I'm experiencing the following issue: when I click on a text field placed inside a dialog element, the 1Password button and menu are positioned behind the dialogue, making it impossible to interact with them. Additionally, autofill from the extension button isn't working.

I've set up an example for you here: https://stackblitz.com/edit/stackblitz-starters-5hwi9684?embed=1&file=index.html (open the sample in a new tab when booted)

Screenshot of the issue:

I hope this issue will be looked at and fixed soon!

Hello @maicol07! 👋

I'm sorry for the delay in responding. I've tried the test website that you provided and it looks like 1Password appears in the right fields when I click into those fields:

Are you still seeing the same issue with the latest version of 1Password (8.11.3.3)? If you are then which browser are you using?

Hi, no, it doesn't work. I've tested it on Microsoft Edge 140 and Firefox 140.

On Edge, it won't work in either preview or new tab.
Then, on Firefox, because Stackblitz isn't supported, I've copied the demo to Codepen here: https://codesandbox.io/p/sandbox/silly-babycat-9dt95c
and it worked fine in preview but not when opening the preview in a new tab. I've got the same result with Edge.

1Password Extension versions:

  • Edge: 8.11.6.25 (beta)
  • Firefox: 8.11.4.27 (stable)

@maicol07

Thank you for the reply. I've reproduced the same behavior and an issue has been opened with our development team so that they can investigate this further.
