Hello All,

Recently (few months) when I open Chrome on Mac and use 1P extension I have to enter my PW every time as opposed to prior if desktop app was opened with PW, it was not needed.

Any suggestions or fix would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Hello @jennnyc! 👋

I'm sorry for the delayed reply. If you're still running into the issue then it sounds like communication between the 1Password extension in your browser and the 1Password for Mac app has broken down. To fix this please do the following:

  1. Close all open web browsers.
  2. Right-click on the 1Password icon at the top of your Mac's screen and then click Quit. Wait until the icon disappears.
  3. Double-click on 1Password from your Mac's **Applications** folder.
  4. Open your web browser.

Let me know if that doesn’t fix the issue.

Figured out issue.

I've been with you for many years , prob soon after your initial release.

Looks like the issue was that you are no longer able to rename app?

1P is a login item 4 me through app and System Settings and I put all my login items in a separate folder inside the "Applications" folder and rename apps for simplicity so yours is "@1P" but unless you tell me differently, this was issue and can no longer rename or separate folder.

@jennnyc

Thanks for the reply. The 1Password app needs to be installed in the /Applications folder itself. If it's moved to a different place then certain functionality may not work properly, this likely explains the behaviour that you're seeing.

I recommend that you leave 1Password named as "1Password.app" in your /Applications folder. Let me know if you see any other issues.
