1Password desktop app keeps launching

Question

For the past few builds, the 1Password desktop app automatically launches if I interact with the browser extension. This happens in all browsers on my system (Safari, Chrome, Orion, Firefox, etc.). The only way to prevent the launch is to turn off desktop app integration in the extension.

Besides flagging it as a bug, is there another workaround where I don't have to disable integration?

Running 1Password for Mac 8.10.72 (81072014), macOS 15.4 beta 3.

Think I found the issue. I have a backup drive that's a mirror of my system, and the 1Password app on that drive was somehow added to launchservices. Once I unmounted that drive and deleted the launchservivces cache the problem stopped.

I'm not sure if it's a bug that both apps were somehow registered, or if this is expected behaviour.

Hello @neilio! 👋I'm sorry that the 1Password for Mac app is launching unexpectedly. As a first step, make sure that 1Password is configured to run in the background: Open and unlock 1Password for Mac.Click on 1Password next to the  in the menu bar.Click Settings.Click General. Make sure that "Keep 1Password in the menu bar" is selected. Let me know if that doesn't work or if the option was already on. -Dave
