1Password for Mac reopens to the default collection or All Accounts

I'm using the latest version on my mac (1Password for Mac 8.10.58 81058041, on PRODUCTION channel) and almost everytime I open 1p I have to set the collection to the one I want -- it sets the one with all the vaults. What I'm doing wrong?! This is like that for years already! And it is very annoying as sometimes I forget to change and end up using an old passord from my archieve vault.

I'm sorry that the 1Password app isn't remembering the last collection that you had open. We've been able to reproduce this issue on our end and an investigation is open to get this fixed in a future version of 1Password.

When the issue is fixed you'll see it noted in our release notes.

I often find that 1Password has reverted to the default Collection rather than staying on my chosen Collection.

I know it has changed when I use ⌘-\ and I'm offered passwords from a vault I do not want to see so I head back into the app and change it back again.

I suspect but have not proven it is after an update.

Same problem here. Semi-regularly when I open 1Password, it has reverted to "All Accounts". I select my preferred collection and it sticks for, at most, the rest of the day. And then it reverts. Sigh.

This issue is really annoying. I see this happening also on current Android and Windows apps. Is the bugfix at least planned for a specific upcoming release?

I’m experiencing the same issue with 1Password for Mac (v8.12.30). It started a few months ago, and it has become really frustrating. I hope the root cause can be identified and fixed soon.

I also have this problem. With 1password on the Mac every launch it defaults to the account, not the collection I have specified. With the browser plugin you can select which vaults show up so that works because once selected it stays. That is more of a pain if you want to view a different vault but it is nicer than re-selecting one collection every time. On the iPad or iPhone it does a better job staying on the collection but in the auto fill section it does not stay on the collection. So when auto filling it reverts to the account and all vaults.

I would like to be able to specify a default setting for the default collection for both view and auto fill. Make it so that this is across all installations for my account. Then offer me the option to either accept that default setting or to do a separate setting where I can pick a different default collection for view and auto fill.

But even if they made a preference where I could select my default view and auto fill collection that would be enough if it maintained itself between restarts of the app. Collections are nice but they need to be everywhere, app, site, browser plugin.

I’m sorry for the inconvenience when using 1Password for Mac. This is an issue that our development team is currently investigating.

Regarding iOS, try the following:

Open and unlock 1Password for iOS.
Tap the icon for your account or collection at the top left and choose Settings. (If you’re using an iPad, tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar.)
Tap AutoFill.
Set “Show filling suggestions from” to the desired account or collection.
