1Password for Safari doesn't appear in Safari 17.6 on my Mac
I have used 1Password and 1Password for Safari on my MacBook Pro for years. Now and then, there are problems with 1Password for Safari. Now, today, is an additional time. As of this morning, I can find no trace of 1Password inside of Safari Version 17.6 (17618.3.11.11.7, 17618). 1Password doesn't show up in the Safari Preferences > Extensions. The icon is no longer visible in the Safari Toolbar, nor in the available options to customize the Toolbar.
I have restarted Safari four times. I have restarted my Mac three times. I have deleted and then reinstalled 1Password for Safari, and restarted the computer again. I have followed 1Password's instructions to 'Start using 1Password for Safari. The second instruction is 'Turn on 1Password for Safari in Extensions'. But as I said above, there is no 1Password item shown in Safari > Extensions, although it used to be there.
1Password in the Mac Menu Bar seems to work fine. 1Password in Firefox works fine. 1Password for Safari appears in the Applications folder as version 8.10.48, the same version number as 1Password.app.
I notice that this Forum webpage is less user-friendly than the last time I visited. I cannot expand this message window, to see all of the text of my message. A further frustration is that the text window doesn't scroll. When I click the 'Toggle full page' button, I see the same small window, with only some of my text. As on the non-full page, the text window can't be expanded and doesn't scroll.
In searching messages on this topic, I noticed that meaningful dates are largely absent. In the topics list, I didn't see any dates at all. Within a message thread, the month and day may appear, but no Year. So I don't know whether I am reading something current, old, or ancient. When there are fifteen messages with the same date (but no year), there is no time of day stamp to indicate the message order, and the time between comments.
I'm baffled by the removal of essential features from this Forum webpage. Perhaps the missing features don't affect all users, but they sure make my user experience much worse. I'm already about an hour into trying to troubleshoot and document this problem, and I wish there wasn't so much friction in the process to try and get support.
