1Password for Windows (8.10.40) doesn't start

In a few days, my 1password doesn't start. When start up, it says like "The data stored seems to be newer than this version of 1password can handle. Please update your 1password to the latest version. If you need support, please contact to mailto:support@1password.com."
My language preference is Japanese, so the message above may be incorrect.

Before the problem, I installed NIGHTLY. And it worked fine.

How can I recover?

Hello @higuchim! 👋

I'm sorry that 1Password isn't starting on your Windows PC. This error message can occur if you rollback from a newer version of 1Password (such as the nightly) to an older version (such as the current stable version). The following steps will allow you to reset 1Password on your device:

  1. Make sure that you're signed into your 1Password account on another device and download your Emergency Kit
  2. In order to avoid being locked out, don't skip Step 1.
  3. Uninstall 1Password: How to uninstall 1Password
  4. Open the Start menu, type %LOCALAPPDATA%, and choose Open.
  5. Find the folder named 1Password and move it to the Recycle Bin.
  6. Reinstall 1Password: Get the 1Password apps

Then add your account back to the app. Let me know if you run into any issues.
