Hello folks,

Our development team has released improvements to how auto-lock works with certain configurations such as high-performance screen sharing on macOS. Please update to 1Password for Mac version 8.11.12 or later: 


If you still see the same issue after updating then please let me know so that we can investigate further.

@1P_Dave I'm having the same issue. It doesn't matter if I have the dynamic option enabled or disabled. Seems to have started when I got the Sequoia update (the older MacOS version didn't have any issues).

Also tried your steps of disabled/switching disabling dynamic, etc. and nothing works. Had to disable the auto-locking which is a significant security issue.

Can you please let us know what's the priority on this bug? This is a security issue, should be prioritized over features imo.

I'm sorry that you're also running into the issue and that the steps shared for a potential workaround didn't work for you. Can you clarify the following:

  1. What specific symptoms are you seeing? Is 1Password locking too quickly? Or not locking when expected?
  2. Can you reproduce the issue if screen sharing is set to "Standard" screen-sharing?

  1. 1Password locks in less than 10 seconds after unlocking it.
  2. it is reproducible in both standard and dynamic screen sharing modes.

Thank you for answering those questions. If you can reproduce the issue while using standard mode then you might be running into a slightly different issue. So that I can confirm this and investigate further, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

Thank you for reaching out. Can you clarify the issue that you're running into a little further? Specifically:

  1. Which version of 1Password are you using: Find the version numbers for 1Password and your operating system
  2. How quickly does 1Password lock? In less than 10 seconds like the original poster?
  3. Are you using high performance screen sharing? Can you reproduce the issue if you switch to using standard screen sharing?
