1Password on a work laptop

I found detailed Uninstall instructions in the Knowledgebase, which is very helpful.

I guess, then, my question boils down to the Secret Key, and whether it is best practice to regenerate the Secret Key when returning a work device.

I realise the Secret Key, by itself, is not enough for a potential attacker to be able to exploit. I have read that on Windows, the Secret Key is "lightly obfuscated". Nevertheless, we still want to keep that secret, as far as possible.

If regenerating the Secret Key is advisable in this scenario, I'm also interested to know if there are particular consequences of the Secret Key changing.

Never thought about this, but I have to return a work MacBook soon.

Usually I just format the SSD before returning, but this Mac is a managed Mac (MDM), so my options are perhaps limited,

It wouldn't be necessary to regenerate the Secret Key as long as you've removed your 1Password data from the device after uninstalling 1Password.

It sounds like you have already done so @Enthusiast, in which case any trace of the Secret Key would be removed from the device.

@XIII, similarly, formatting the drive would accomplish the same thing but if you're unable to do so I would suggest following the steps above.
