1Password secure input is blocking Typinator autocomplete in Firefox

Why is 1Password blocking Typinator from working in Firefox? Typinator will work for a while and then suddenly be blocked by 1Password even though 1Password is in the background. I have to quit 1Password to get Typinator working again. This is on the latest version of mac OS Sequoia.

This seems to be a somewhat recent issue (started a few months ago).

Hi @Boosh, this sounds like a known issue at the moment where 1Password for Mac enables Secure Input incorrectly in certain situations. This prevents apps that rely on event taps from working. I’ve added your report to the internal tracker for the issue.

Until a fix is available, either of the below options should allow Secure Input to be released when the issue occurs:

  • Focus the 1Password app, then switch focus to another app, and wait a moment.
  • Right-click the 1Password icon in the menu bar at the top right of your screen, click Quit, then re-open it.

I’m sorry for the disruption this is causing.
