1Password vs. iCloud passkeys

It appears that when the 1Password Safari extension is enabled, I am not able to create or use iCloud passkeys. There are times when one or the other is preferred. Has anyone seen this yet?

Extension Version: 2.15.1
OS Version: Ventura
Browser: Safari

Trying to use iCloud Keychain and 1PW (or any other password manager) at the same time is just asking for trouble. They will always be stepping on each other because they perform the same function.

Hey @cobaltjacket,

Can you provide me with some more detail on why you would like to use both 1Password and iCloud for passkeys so I can fully understand and best advise?

It is expected behaviour that when 1Password is set as the default password manager in Safari you will no longer see the iCloud prompts.

I store passkeys in both as a “2 vendor” strategy (having a backup).

What XIII said. I use three WebAuth methods - YubiKeys, 1Pw passkeys, and iCloud passkeys.
