Hi @wsalas82 and @CabernetShane !

I'm sorry to hear that 1Password shows an error message every time you start your computer. So that our team can investigate further, could you reproduce the issue, click Report on the error message, and then create a 1Password diagnostics report:

Send a diagnostics report (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com
With your email please include:

  • A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/1passwordpro-crash-at-windows-login-/166041
  • Your forum username

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number.  Please post that number here.  Thanks very much!

Hi @wsalas82 , thanks for the heads up! I'm glad to hear it's stopped happening for now. if the behaviour does return, don't hesitate to report the crash and email in with diagnostics and we'll take a closer look.

Yesterday and today I havent had any errors. I also reported that to support.
Nothing changed windows update or application update wise...

Strange...

I had the same “1Password quit unexpectedly” popup right after Windows login/startup. After starting 1Password again, it worked normally.

What fixed it for me was:

  • Open 1Password settings
  • Go to Security
  • Turn off “Unlock with Windows Hello”
  • Restart Windows
  • Turn “Unlock with Windows Hello” back on

After doing that, the crash popup stopped appearing at startup.

Not sure if Windows Hello/TPM was actually the root cause, but it looks like re-enabling Windows Hello may have refreshed whatever local state 1Password uses for Windows Hello unlock. Maybe this helps someone else affected by the same startup crash.

Hi @miggl8, I'm sorry to hear that you were running into this as well, and thanks for sharing the changes you made that seem to have helped.

This particular issue has a few different causes and can also be intermittent, so it's difficult to say whether the changes you made helped or whether it was a coincidence - however I'm glad to hear that you're no longer seeing the message on startup.

If the issue returns at any point, I'd like to ask you to email in to support@1password.com with:

  • A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/1passwordpro-crash-at-windows-login-/166041
  • Your forum username: miggl8
  • A diagnostics report from the desktop app: How to send a 1Password diagnostics report

You'll receive a reply with a Support ID number. Please post that number here to help us join the dots. Thanks!
