Question

1PW mis-identifying sites that passkeys can be used on (Amazon)

I've got a few logins for Amazon.co.uk saved in 1Password, and it tells me that Passkeys are available for these items. However, passkeys are not available on Amazon.co.uk currently, only on Amazon.com (it seems).

Does 1PW not differentiate between Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com? Should it? The website URL is saved as amazon.co.uk in the 1Password item.

Maybe Amazon UK is A/B testing, but I have been able to set up a passkey for my Amazon UK account.

Interesting... You could be right. I've logged in to a different UK Amazon account and a US-specific Amazon account and Passkeys aren't available in any of them (yet).

Hi @snozdop

Amazon is currently rolling out sign in with passkeys support across all Amazon marketplaces, and I know a few of my UK colleagues have managed to add a passkey to their Amazon.co.uk accounts. However, the issue you raised in your first post was actually something I raised to the development team earlier today to get a closer look at.

I've just tried to see if i could add a passkey to my UK Amazon account and there's no option to do so as of now.

@rctneil

Thanks for the report. As Jac mentioned, Amazon is currently in the process of rolling out passkeys for their customers. Hopefully you'll see the option soon! 🙂

I have this same problem too with amazon.co.uk but also with paypal.com/uk, yahoo.com and nvidia.com. It's a little annoying when you are told passkeys are available when they are not.

@IR69

I'm sorry for the frustration, hopefully passkeys will be rolled out by those websites for your account soon.
