2FA setup for 1password in other authenticator apps broken

Question

I need to remove 2FA from my 1password account, but I cannot even sign in to my account without 2FA.

I just downloaded Authy and it is giving me a 6-digit code. There was no verification or extensive set up needed in Authy. It asked for a set-up key which I do not have, but I have a recovery code and secret key. If asked for the 16 digit QR code, there is no where to get that online because I cannot even sign in....

When I use the 6 digit code Authy provides, 1 password says it is invalid.

It's impossible to sign in and I have been in offline mode in my account for MONTHS because of this. I can't sign in on my laptop without 2FA. Please help me so I can use my app securely again and fully sign in so use the browser extension. I feel like my data is at risk.

Hi @Laurie_ , thanks for joining the community. I'm sorry to hear there's been an issue authenticating 1Password.

If you have the app, passkey or security key that was originally used to enable 2FA for your account, that may be able to be used to authenticate 1Password again.

You mentioned that you can't sign in, but as a next step I would recommend checking on all devices where you use 1Password if you still might have access, including on our website 1Password.com. If you find there is somewhere where you can sign in, you can follow the steps in our guide to turn 2FA off.
