A secure note has disappeared

For some reason I can't determine, a secure note that I was editing disappeared completely. I was adding things to it and was interrupted and when I looked for it to continue, it was nowhere to be found. I tried searching for words that I know are in the body of the note, in my two vaults, in all items, in the Archive, in Recently Deleted. Nothing. It is an old note that I’ve been using for years. Gone.

1Password is synchronized across all my hardware, Macs, iPad, iPhone.

Does anyone have a suggestion ?

Hello @EllenH! 👋

I'm happy that you were able to find your Secure Note in the Archive. The Archive is a place to put items that you don't want to show up in search results, or as suggestions in the browser, and it sounds like you're seeing expected behaviour there. You can read more about the Archive here: Archive and delete items

Let me know if you have any other questions.

A minute after posting the above question, I had an idea. I went to each vault and selected "Secure notes" and then looked at all the notes one by one. And I found the note I thought had disappeared in the archive. Great!

But how is it that a search doesn't find it? I tried to find it using Search and knowing it was there and nothing was found.

That's interesting. I suppose I've been using 1Password for too long and don't keep up to date on the new things in every new version.

But, unless I'm mistaken, "Search" looks for words in the title and the contents of the records, but "Find" only reads the title.

It's better than nothing of course, and certainly enough for many categories, like Logins, Bank Accounts, etc., but maybe not for Secure Notes and maybe others. I'll have to think about it.

Thanks for the useful information.
