Add Document To Identity

So the description pretty much says it all. Is it not possible to add a document to an existing identity? When I attempt to add a new field, there is no option to choose a document.

For example I have my identity, but I want to add a copy of my DL in my identity. As it is right now I had to specifically create a "John Smith's IDs" as a document.

I just want all of that to be available under my ID instead of having a separate ID for me under the documents tab. Is this possible?
