Question

Android Edge doesn't offer password if address bar is at bottom

Hello,

Found something with Android Edge when I set the address bar at the bottom. 1password stopped offering to autofill passwords in that configuration. Setting the address bar back on top fixed the issue.

I knew 1password was working correctly since I was able to get passwords from Samsung Internet or Chrome. Is there something you could add that feature in the future?

On another note, I think Microsoft is working on adding extension in Edge, saw a beta setting page. Only password manager listed there is BitWarden. Any plan for 1password?

Have a good day.

Hi @pemartinv2, thanks for joining the Community!

From a quick test I'm not seeing a difference in behavior with the search bar at the top or bottom in Edge. Are you still encountering this behavior?

To your latter point, we don't have any updates to share about mobile browser extensions at this time. Thanks for sharing your interest!

Hi, I'm also experiencing something similar to this. In my case, however, 1Password autofill only ceases to work after I've stopped using Vivaldi for a certain amount of time, and it's no longer the active app.

I've also noted similar with Edge. Again, this is only when I've set the address bar to the bottom in both apps. I can workaround this, by swiping to close the app, and then reopening it.

I'm currently testing Vivaldi with the address bar at the top, and hopefully this will fix the issue for me. I'm running Android 15 on a Google Pixel 9a with the latest stable version of 1Password.

Make sure to exclude 1Password from battery optimization. Let it run in the background unrestricted for a better experience.

@Dunecat  - Many thanks for the tip. I thought I had done this with "Allow background usage" for 1Password, but it looks like you can click on this to run the app in unrestricted mode (just switched from a Samsung, and Pixel does things slightly differently 🙂).

Hopefully, this will fix my autofill issues with Vivaldi 👍
