Annoying "Login Already saved" prompt

All I have since a while a really annoying behavior of 1password for Safari on Mac. It brings up promts that an login is already saved when I login somewhere. Well - yes it was 1password who even filled in the login

Workflow

  1. surf webpage
  2. press CMD+# ->1password fills in credentials
  3. Click login

Then 1Password tells me that this login is already saved. Thats a nice info, but I didn't asked 1Password to save it or check if it can be saved. - Always have to do an extra click to get rid of it

How can I stop that?

Hi @telephoneman2 thanks for reaching out!

Based on the behaviour you described it looks like you're running  a known issue that's related to the new notification feature. Could you try to disable the notification option and see if that improves the behaviour?

  1. Open your browser, right-click on the 1Password extension icon in your browser's toolbar and select "Settings".
  2. Select "Notifications" from the left-hand menu.
  3. Disable the "Allow 1Password to Show Unlock Notifications" option.

Thanks a lot - I'll try that. I think that switch is not intended to be disabled or? Are u going to fix that?

Thanks for following up @telephoneman2  and apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

You are correct that the setting I mentioned shouldn't have to be disabled to prevent the message from appearing and doing so is intended to be a temporary workaround while our developers investigate.

While I can't guarantee a timeline for a fix to be implemented, you can make sure you have access to any new features or fixes as soon as they're available by making sure you have 1Password set to update automatically. @ChrisC1P - Outside of the "not being notified if 1Password is unlocked" are there any other downsides to this workaround? I have the same issue.

Hi @Christopher_Ng great question!

When disabling the 'Allow 1Password to show unlock notifications' option there will be no loss of functionality with 1Password once the browser extension is unlocked. However, when 1Password is locked, you won't see any notifications about the lock state or any prompts to save items, so there is a possibility of forgetting to save new credentials if 1Password is locked.

If you're interested, you can set the 1Password desktop app to unlock with your device. This will also unlock the browser extension when you open your browser thanks to the app integration and will ensure that 1Password is unlocked while you're using your device.

I've also added you as an affected user to our internal tracker for this issue to help our developers investigate.

I get this all the time too. It will never be soon enough for 1P to implement native autofill on macOS so we can finally leave the extension behind.
