Apple Notes iPadOS Secure Notes Auto-fill

Question

How can I have 1Password correctly identify the 1Password item to auto-fill into Apple Notes when unlocking secure notes?

If I tap "Passwords" above the keyboard, it matches zero entries.

Steps to reproduce:

Open Apple Notes
Try to unlock a note
Tap "Passwords" above keyboard
Create a new 1Password entry and save my password

Expected results: Once I've created the new entry, it automatically appears for filling into the Apple Notes secure note unlock password dialog

Observed results: Even when I make the 1Password item from within the Notes app, it is never automatically offered, I always have to search for it

Note that I have tried with and without adding "URLs" such as `https://www.apple.com` and `apple.com` into the item, since I thought maybe it would be doing domain matching.

iPadOS 18.3.1 (and I'd be shocked if this isn't the case on iOS too, hence my tag), 1Password for iPadOS 8.10.64

On the iPhone and iPad, AutoFill is specifically handled by iOS through an Apple feature named iOS Password AutoFill and 1Password only provides the data for the experience. Password AutoFill will match the apps that you use to your login items in 1Password by taking the associated domain associated with an app and comparing it against the website URL in your login items. If there is a match then Password AutoFill will offer to fill your login information. Apps usually set associated domains for login credentials rather than other types of passwords like the unlock password for your notes. You can read more about associated domains here: Supporting associated domainsIn this case, the Apple Notes app doesn't appear to have an associated domain (likely because it isn't an app that you need to sign into using your Apple Account credentials) and there is nothing for Password AutoFill to use to match the app to a Login item in 1Password. This means that you'll need to always search for the correct Login item.I will note that with iOS 16 and later, you have the option to unlock your notes using your iPhone passcode if you wish. Or you can enable Touch ID or Face ID unlock for specific notes so that you don't need to enter your password each time.
