Question

Auto-lock timeout setting for more than 12 hours?

Hi folks,

I’ve been using 1Password across macOS and iOS, and I was wondering — is it possible to set the auto-lock timeout for more than 12 hours, or even disable it entirely on desktop while still requiring it on mobile?

I usually work in a secure home office, and it gets annoying to re-authenticate after stepping away for a few hours. I understand the security reasoning, but having a bit more flexibility for trusted environments would be great.

Has anyone found a workaround, maybe using custom scripts or OS-level settings, to keep the app unlocked for longer periods?

Appreciate any advice!

Hello @jhonnmarie! 👋

Thanks for the question! You can choose how quickly 1Password locks by following the steps in our guide: How to set 1Password to lock automatically

If you've already configured auto-lock then are you still seeing 1Password lock sooner than expected? Does it always happen right after 12 hours pass? Or after you restart your device?
