Question

Auto sign in after autofill - not working in many cases

Hi,

the new auto sign in feature looks like having problems with many sites (GMail, Peplink,...) - I just disabled it because of issues.

Would be nice to not auto enable such new features and it's better to give the user the chance to decide on it's own!

I now disabled it in every browser and everything is working as it should.

Looks like the auto sign in is working too fast...

Hello @dragon1, thank you for writing in. I sincerely apologize for any interruption in your workflow caused by this issue.

I cannot recreate the issue on Gmail; is the page in a different language? As for the other websites, can you please share the URL so I can take a look?

You mentioned:

I appreciate the feedback you shared and understand what you mean. I've passed it along to our product team.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

We are having issues with this new feature on our own site. In our case, it's a django app and the hidden field with the CSRF token isn't being properly POST'd by the auto submit. (It maintains an older CSRF value). This doesn't fail 100% of the time, but pretty consistently. 75% +.

@1P_Evon I'm using German as language. Tried it with English and it works without any issues.

The issue is, that when enabled and after inserting the mail it jumps back and asks, if I want to find a mail-address (account) within GMail... So something is wrong when using other languages.

EDIT.
Concerning peplink website it enters username, password and 2FA code - but after that it jumps back to the beginning to reenter credentials (kinda loops). > peplink website is set to English as language.

Thanks for writing in @cayleaf. I'd like to request that you send me a collected page structure to mailto:support+forum@1Password.com from your website for further investigation. I can report the behaviour to our development team. Here's how to collect the page structure:

  1. Navigate to the page exhibiting the behaviour.
  2. Right-click the problematic field and select 1Password > Help > Collect Page Structure.
  3. 1Password will save a .json file to your "Downloads" folder.

After that, attach the file to your email.

@dragon1,

Thank you for the additional details. I can reproduce the issue when the page is in German. I reported the behaviour to our development team.

Are you able to share the Peplink URL? I've done some testing on https://peplinkid.peplink.com/ but haven't been able to recreate the same behaviour.

I look forward to hearing back from you.

Done @1P_Evon. Please note, this was a hidden field so it wasn't part of your standard page collection and I had to tweak the page a bit to get it to collect.

Thank you, @cayleaf. I appreciate the time you took to send that in. I've located the support ticket. I've replied to the support ticket you opened via email; let's continue the conversation there. 🙂

I too have this issue where the auto login is too fast. If I don't use auto login and hit enter after auto fill, it's works well. Seems like a little delay can help.

Hey @fella5,

Can you let us know which site you are experiencing this on so we can take a look?

Thanks!
