Autofill overlay rendered into the status bar on Android 15, taking away access to buttons

Hi,

I am having trouble saving passkeys on my Pixel 9 Pro (Android 15). The save button is inaccessible as it is obscured by the status bar

The problem occurs for all passkeys (Amazon, Ring, github, paypal, ...).

@Fozziebox and @GSK

The issue is still open with our development team and hopefully will be fixed in a future update soon. I'm sorry for the continued inconvenience.

One workaround that can help is to run your browser in Split Screen mode and set the browser as the bottom section. This will render the Autofill UI only at the bottom half of the screen: See two apps at the same time on Pixel phone - Pixel Phone Help

I know that it's not the best workaround but I wanted to share it in case it helps.

Still exists for me on Pixel 9 Pro.

The split screen doesn't work with all apps (PayPal).

@drekula

Our developers are investigating the issue, I've added your report to the internal work item open for the issue as well. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

I have the same issue on my pixel 8 pro. I found a work around though. If you go to android developer options and select Display Cutout, you can change it to Render Apps Below Cutout Area.

I was hopeful @RMac0001 , but that cutout isn't available on P9P with A15.

Do you have developer options enabled?

Yes @RMac0001 . The render apps option isn't in the drop-down and the other cutout options don't help. A Google search suggests this is the case with latest Android 15 on P9P.

Hi everyone!

Our Development team are still working on this one, but in the meantime, you should find that if you put the browser or app where you're saving a passkey in the bottom half of the screen by using split-screen mode, and any other app on top (as long as it supports split-screen), the × and Save buttons in the save overlay will be accessible because they're not pushed off the top of the screen.

Hope that helps!

@drekula

Thanks for the ping! Our development team is actively working on a fix, we'll make sure to note it in our release notes as soon as it is available in the beta/stable version of 1Password for Android:
