BitLocker Recovery Key support

1Password is certainly a great place to store your BitLocker recovery key. While an automatic import may not be possible, you can save a backup as a file and then drag and drop that file into 1Password.

Regarding an item template specifically for recovery keys, I've gone ahead and submitted a feature request for this on your behalf.

While activating Bitlocker, you get some text file by Windows. In 1Password, I created a "secure note", pasted the text from that text file into the secure note, gave it the title "Bitlocker recovery key ", and that's it. It's so simple I don't feel it's necessary to have an extra template for this.

I guess you want fields for the key id and the key value. However since Microsoft deemed this so important that they created a whole text file for this with explanations, I mirrored this importance and imported the whole text instead of just the two values.

Since using the keys is taking place before the system is booting up, you will need this text on some mobile device and type it in, so clipboard-friendliness for copy+pate is not required.

Saving the key in a secure note is a fair option for a recovery key. But a separate category would keep things neat for storing many recovery keys for several PCs and Windows installs. Especially if you already use secure notes for other things.

Give them a tag and organize all your items with tags instead of using the fixed categories that cannot be changed. Much more flexible IMHO.
