Question

Browser extension won't work when offline

Sometimes I open my computer and connect to a captive-portal-protected network, I need to use my browser to fill my username and password before I can actually connect to the internet. However at that point, the browser extension won't work at all, neither autofill nor the extension home page (that little webpage pops up when click on the extension icon). I had to launch 1Password itself and copy my username and password.

Hello @xkww3n! 👋

I'm sorry that you're unable to fill your login credentials when signing into your network. Does the login page for the network open in a normal browser window? Or in a web view? Do you see the 1Password icon in the window itself? Are you able to post a screenshot of the window?

If the login page opens in a webview window and not a normal browser window then I would recommend trying one of the other filling method available:

I look forward to hearing from you.

It's a normal browser window, not a webview window. 1Password autofill icon won't appear. And this only happens on system cold start, after successfully connected to the internet, even if I disconnect the internet (sign out), the autofill still works.

@xkww3n

Thank you for the reply. I'd like to ask that you take a screen recording of the issue:

Once the screen recording is done, please send an email to support@1Password.com along with a link to this thread. After emailing in, you'll receive a reply from BitBot, our friendly robot assistant with a Support ID that looks something like [#ABC-12345-678]. Post that here, and I'll be able to locate your message and send you a secure upload link for the screen recording.
