Bug with favorites on iOS and iPadOS

Hi there,

There is a bug in the newest version of 1Password for iOS and iPadOS.

The reason that we would “favorite” a login item in 1Password is so that when we use our web browser to autofill a login, then 1Password will choose our favorite login item first.

In other words, if we have 2 different logins for Twitter, 1Password should default to the login that we have marked as our favorite.

This was actually working fine for 15 years, up until version 8 of the product. Then, it was broken in v8. Then, it was briefly fixed it in a newer version of v8. And now, it’s broken again in the newest version of v8.

Would be awesome to see this fixed ASAP, and would be even better if it didn’t keep breaking with many of the updates.

Again, to summarize the issue:

When we favorite a login item, 1Password should always default to choosing that favorite item first when we are autofilling in a web browser.

Thank you!
Scott

Hi @scotty321, thanks for reporting this and I'm sorry for the frustration. I know how annoying it is when it feels like a feature isn't reliable across updates.

Could you share  the following:

  • iPad model and iPadOS version
  • 1Password version
  • Browser and version

A few of us tried to replicate this issue and haven't been able to, but we want to make sure we're replicating your setup as closely as possible.

Hi @1P_SimonH,

I've opened support ticket #XZJ-83378-984 regarding this issue.

In that support ticket, I linked to a Loom video where I demonstrate the bug in action! If you watch that Loom video, you will be able to see the problem happening in real time.

Actually, when I responded to that support ticket just now, it looks like my support ticket # changed to: YRY-49938-937.

Thank you!
Scott
