Can’t “review and accept agreement”

Got your email with subject line “Action Required: Review Updated 1Password Security Agreement” about 3½ hours ago. Clicked button-shaped link labeled “Review and accept agreement”. Page does not load. Eventually times out with this message:

Unable to connect

Firefox can’t connect to the server at 1passwordcompliance.com

Please advise. Thanks.

Hi @bjkeefe and @Jpap, thanks for reporting this! This definitely isn’t a genuine email from us. You can check which domains 1Password uses to send emails here: 1Password email and marketing domains.

If you still have the email, or if you receive any further suspicious emails, please forward them to abuse@1password.com so we can investigate.

Looks like a phishing attempt to me.  I would delete the email and do not click on the link again.

I got the same one. Fortunately I didn’t click on anything. Came here and had a chat with the AI and posted the from address which was determined not to be a real 1Password address.

Thanks, @jeffgman and @Jpap. I think you’re right. More discussion about this on reddit:

In retrospect, I feel stupid for not going with my gut instinct that the mention of Docusign was suspicious.

Sorry. I deleted that email after the above discussion. I should have thought to save it. If I get another one, I will be sure to pass it along.

ETA: I checked my browser history, and the page that I reported as not loading had the base URL hXXps://1passwordcompliance.com/ (where the XX was tt). I am 99% sure the email address was from hello@[same domain].

Hi @bjkeefe, thanks for letting me know! The good news is that this phishing email has already been reported and actioned by our security team, so you're all good here. If you do receive any more suspicious emails in future, don’t hesitate to report them to abuse@1password.com so our team can look into things.
