The Community, including 1Password staff here, will be better able to help relieve your frustration if you describe an actual problem, i.e. describe

  1. what you did,
  2. what happened when you did it,
  3. how that differed from what you expected or wanted, and
  4. if this happens consistently

with enough context. Your Browser Extension tag is a good start, but more detail is needed. Mentioning the software and versions involved is always a good idea.

In some instances, of which this may be one, a picture showing the problem happening can help greatly.

1Password for Windows 8.12.26 (81226040)

More hilarity that in the extension about section, it still show you the version but won’t let you copy it.

This error has existed for years, the idea that there is an error path that displays a simple “can’t save item” with no additional information is the issue, its bad design.

If you’re willing, I’d like to have our support team investigate this further with you. The next time the issue occurs, could you create and share a 1Password diagnostics report from 1Password in your browser: Send a diagnostics report (browser extension)
