Hello everyone,

Earlier today, 1Password experienced a partial outage that affected both authentication and the saving and updating of items, in the browser. Our team has implemented a fix for the issue and is monitoring the results. You should be able to use 1Password in the browser normally again.

As we review today's events internally, any new information on the incident will be posted to our status page.

If you're still having trouble using 1Password, and the desktop app is installed, then follow these steps to reset the connection between the desktop app and 1Password in the browser:

  1. Open and unlock the 1Password desktop app.
  2. Click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and click Settings.
  3. Click Browser.
  4. Turn "Connect with 1Password in the browser" off and then back on.

If you continue to see issues, or need help with these steps, then let us know and we can help further.

Hello folks!

I'm sorry that 1Password in the browser is running into issues. 1Password is currently experiencing a partial outage affecting both authentication as well as the saving and updating of items. That outage is the likely cause of the issues you're having.

@tcl

I'm sorry for the confusion. All accounts that had been active within the past year were carried over to the new 1Password Community which launched last month. If you hadn't logged in during the past year, you would have needed to create a new account.

So @1P_Dave , note that your instructions for previous Community account holders needs to clarify that if you have not logged in sometime in 2024, that 'recovery' of your old account will not work. I tried it THREE TIMES to have it reset my old password. Never received a single email to complete the reset. Frustrating. Finally figured out I needed to create a new account using ANOTHER email address. Stupid.

Seems to be working now. If its not working on your end, it might take a few mins/hrs.
