Cannot Get 2FA OTP To Work With A MASFT Account, Help Please

Question

I am trying to set up 2FA using a QR code with a MSFT e-mail account.

I have included the images that I am presented with in th order that the are presented.

I note that the first image indicates that the only Authenticator that can be used is MSFT’s. I tried clicking through to the QR code per the fourth image but when I tried to read the QR code with 1Password it failed; I got a message that there was no QR code to read.

I further note that is one of the items that Watchtower indicates was available for 2FA using a QR code.

Questions:

1. Is the common, has this been seen before (noting I have setup +/- 35 QR codes but have never encountered this before)?

2. Is there a workaround or am I stuck?

3. If I am stuck then why would 1Password suggest a QR code when it is not compatible with 1Password?

Hello ​@Joelc! 👋Thanks for reaching out! On the following screen, you’ll need to select the Set up a different authentication app option. It looks like you’re trying to scan the proprietary Microsoft Authenticator QR code which are not compatible with third-party password managers like 1Password:Let me know if you run into any issues.-Dave
