I can't open 1password since I upgraded to Tahoe on my iMac or in Safari extension. I can't open it in chrome extension. How do I fix this?

Thank you for your reply and suggestions period I had already restarted the computer a couple times. I opened activity monitor, search 1password and there were three processes open. When I click on the X which is now surrounded by a circle in Tahoe instead of an octagon, nothing happens. The processes remain open.

But now a few hours later I tried using 1password in safari and it worked and then I opened the main application and it worked. And activity monitor shows quite a number of processes open.

So thank you very much

Hi @barryg,

I'm sorry you're experiencing an issue opening 1Password after updating your device. Could you first confirm what version of the 1Password app you have installed on your device? Additionally, could you let us know any error messages or describe what you're seeing when trying to open 1Password?

I have version 8.12.8. The error message is:

You can’t open the application “1Password.app” because it is not responding.

Hi @barryg, thanks for getting back to us!

If you haven't already, could you try a full restart of your Mac to see if that gets things working?

Alternately, if you'd prefer not to restart right now, could you try the steps below:

  1. In the Finder, click the Go menu and select Utilities.
  2. Open Activity Monitor.
  3. In the search box in the top-right corner, type 1Password.
  4. For each 1Password process in the list, click on it, then click the stop button (an X in an octagon) in the toolbar and choose Force Quit.
    • If you can't see the stop button, try making the Activity Monitor window larger.
  5. Once the list is empty, wait a few seconds, then try to reopen 1Password.

Let me know how this goes!
