change object choose icon from library

Question

why is it that when creating an object, i can choose from various icons, but after an object has been created, I may only change it via upload of a new image file?

AND

why do I have to do this for EVERY single one of the object in question?

Example: Multiple openWRT routers, everyone with multiple entries in my database, where for every entry i need to edit --> choose new icon --> upload the same icon multiple times.

Hey there @zakaszewski

When you create a new item, you choose an item category, such as Wireless Router as it sounds like in your case. By default, each item category has a default icon specific to that category. For some items, such as Logins, it may be possible to fetch a rich icon for the item from our catalogue automatically.

Otherwise, you're right, you can assign a custom icon to any item. It's not possible currently to make any edits to multiple items at once, whether that's to icons or any of the items' fields.
