charged twice for annual subscription

i recently paid for my annual subscription via the apple app store in April, and noticed with the new price increase that they're attempting to bill me again this month for an annual subscription with the new increased price. i have the option to cancel, but i'll lose access to my subscription despite paying for the year in april. support has not gotten back to me despite reaching out multiple times. anyone have any advice?
