Comet Browser extension not in sync with desktop

On Comet I'm constantly being asked for my password to log into the extension and it's not in sync with the desktop app like it is on Dia or Safari. Also, when looking at the settings page, there's a warning but it's not clear how to fix it:

Is anyone else running into this?

After contacting support via email, the issue was to completely uninstall 1Password and re-install. Once you do that, you'll see an option in Settings -> Browser (on the desktop app) to add a new browser. Add Comet there, then go back to the integration page on the extension and it should turn to green status.

Hi @alanwill00,

To confirm, have you added Comet as an additional browser in the Browser section of the app's settings? If not, I'd recommend giving that a try.

If you have and things still aren't working, I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

Send a diagnostics report (Mac)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support@1password.com

With your email please include:

  • A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/comet-browser-extension-not-in-sync-with-desktop/159189
  • Your forum username: alanwill00

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number.  Please post that number here.  Thanks very much!

Hi Trevor,

When you say "have you added Comet as an additional browser in the Browser section of the app's settings" can you confirm which app you're referring to? I don't see a way to set a preferred browser inside the 1Password settings so i'm not sure.

Hi @alanwill00,

Apologies for not being more specific! The Add Browser option can be found in the Browser section of the settings in 1Password desktop app on Mac.

Any chance for a solution with Librewolf on Windows?

Hi @Hees,

Currently only officially supported browsers can integrate directly with the 1Password app on Windows, though the team does hope to bring support for other browsers in the future.

Only worked for me the first time. Back to being broken from the second instance.
