Conversion Nightmare?

I've been using eWallet for many years, and during that time I've accumulated over 700 cards, many of which contain free-form fields that I've named myself, so they don't follow any default field naming convention. Sadly, eWallet doesn't have a browser extension, and they have no intension to create one. So I've been on the hunt for a pw manager with all the bells and whistles, one that works on Windows, android and has a browser extension.

Recently, I've been trying another brand of PW Manager, which I populated with a txt file from eWallet. Unfortunately, the app I've been trying is very rigid in its importing requirement, so many of my cards won't transfer.

Question is, is 1Password flexible enough to allow the import of all my cards, including those that don't follow conventional field-naming templates?

TIA

There is an ewallet converter in the mrc_converter_suite.

See: this thread.

I too am a long term eWallet user -- I tried the conversion and may not have done a very good job.  The import was literally useless with a hodgepodge of info.

Can you give further guidance?

@jcrompton

I replied earlier, but thought the reply might have been caught in the forum’s spam filter, as I didn’t see it afterwards.

Can you provide a few more details about how you performed the conversion?  Also, the eWallet verison and platform you are using?   I know the converter still works, as another user performed an eWallet conversion late last month.

I think I got it sorted out with chatgpt and a little help with the command line instructions to SPECIFICALLY use the ewallet.pm
After I did the proper thing - it seemed to work!!   Thanks for reply
