Hi @fernandog, thanks for reaching out to report this!

Could you let me know what version of 1Password this issue is occurring with?

I look forward to hearing from you! 😄

I see this too on macOS 8.10.32 (81032011).

When I use the main Search box at the top of the 1Password app window, as I type it auto-populates the menu. However, for some reason, it has recently (can't recall when from) started showing the contents of the Notes field immediately after the Item name. Even if the item has a Username field entered it will prioritise the contents of the Notes field over the Username field. This means identifying the correct account by username when you have multiple accounts for the same service becomes impossible.

For example, I have a number of different Google accounts in my household for various people and various reasons (Gmail, YouTube, Analytics etc.) . I use the Notes field to remind me which account is used for what.

However, when I start typing "goog" into the search box, it shows me the following:

Only the third Google account down actually shows the username associated with the item, all the others show parts of the Notes field. This particular Google account item doesn't have any Notes.

Also, whereas the results that show the username are separated from the Item title by a em-dash (—) the others either butt against the Item title or have an ellisis (...).

I'm not sure what the logic is for showing the Notes field and not the username in the search results, but I'd like a way to turn it off.

Happens on mobile too. Very annoying.

I see this too, on the latest releases on both macOS and Windows.

I don't recall seeing this behaviour until recently. It seems to happen only if there are notes in the entry.

P.S. Looking into this further, it seems like 1Password is inconsistent about what it displays after the dash (whether or not the dash is present on the screen). Sometimes it is the userid (this makes sense to me) sometimes it is the first notes entry (this makes no sense to me). So it appears this issue more than just cosmetic.

I’m seeing this behaviour too. In fact there is a thread over in the Windows subforum about the same issue.

Also, in the latest builds on both macOS and Windows, if there is a note it becomes the secondary field, even for a login item. This makes no sense to me. As you point out the natural secondary item for a login is the userid.

@fernandog, @MrC, @snozdop, and @ings

Thank you all for reporting the issue. This is a known bug that our development team is investigating, I've added your reports to the internal work item open for the issue.

@ings I've merged your other comment into this thread as well so that I could respond to both of your comments at once. 🙂

Thanks @1P_Dave !

And I've said it before, but I think the 1Password support team provides excellent service!
