Question

Could you implement an email alias generator?

I use 1Password, but recently have discovered a neat feature in ProtonMail's password manager: the ability to create AND manage email aliases with an account creation. Currently, with 1P, I have to manually create an email alias separately and use that (which means I have to use an expensive server that supports that).
With "ProtonPass", IT creates, forwards, etc., the email alias for me.
Can you implement that email feature soon?

Thanks,

I use Apple's Hide My Email for every new account. Does not take much work and my email is not exposed to other vendors.

Right, but I don't want to be beholden to Apple with yet more paid services. :)

The method I use to create a forwarder in cPanel works fine I guess and doesn't have any additional privacy or cost issues.

I'll stick with 1Password as it's really the best overall. (Also, ... My questions to Proton support have gone unanswered.)

How about anondaddy, including the selfhosted one?

fastmail isn't an email forwarding service like protonpass (simplelogin.io)

fastmail is an actual email service labelled as privacy, however they collect a ton of information, located in the Australia, and does not encrypt your email. I know location doesn't really matter in the end when there's a warrant.

I think what OP needs to do is buy a domain and link it on CloudFlare. Click email and follow the steps. Enable catch-all and then you do not have to create any accounts. It just forwards to wherever you set it up.

Just remember to set that catch-all. This doesn't remove trackers.

DuckDuckGo also does email forwarding and removed trackers. It's free, but there's no way to track your alias addresses and who knows what would happen if they shut it down.

I thought they only allowed 3? I just registered my own domain and will use Skiff.

Actually I just used email alias for the first time from my FREE Proton Pass account to set up this membership to your community. Like whoever started this thread, it may be the deciding factor whether I create a 1P account - I would like to.

Your community/service seems incomparably better than Proton, but still the email aliases seem even more important.

Has any resolution to this request been decided?

Thanks very much...

@letsgetjiggywithit

Thanks for reaching out. You can create an email alias using 1Password's masked email alias feature (which require a Fastmail account): Use 1Password to create and manage Masked Emails in Fastmail

If that doesn't work for you then are you looking to see 1Password support an integration with a particular masked email service? Or would you like 1Password to be able to generate masked email aliases directly, without using another service?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Ok, but that's another $60/yr account, not part of my 1P account, correct?
