Create "Mac Login" login

How do I go about setting up a "Mac Login" so that I can use 1Password to auto-enter my password when prompted by MacOS? I know this can be done as I've set it up on one of my Macs, but I can't remember how I did it. I've searched for it, but have been unable to find the instructions.

Hi @kappabear 👋

You can set up a Mac device login item in 1Password with these steps:

  1. Click the blue "+ New Item" in the top right corner of the app
  2. Search "Mac login" when selecting what type of item to create and select "Mac login" from the results:


  1. Fill in your item details and save the new item. Ensure you see "Mac login" under the Linked Apps section of the item:
