Credentials not saving when using 1Password in Google Chrome on Android

I am experiencing an issue with the 1Password Android app (version 8.12.21) while using Google Chrome (version 148.0.7778.180)(OS: Android 15; 2312DRA50G Build/AQ3A.240912.001).

When I log into a website and click "Save" when 1Password asks "Save username and password in 1Password?", nothing happens. There is no error message displayed, but the credentials are not saved to my 1Password vault either.

I have already tried this on multiple different websites in Google Chrome, and the issue persists across all of them.

I have also already run the Autofill Health Check within the 1Password app, and it doesn't show any issues or configuration errors.

Hi @HannahS, I'm sorry to hear that your logins aren't being saved on Android.

So that our team can look into this further with you, I'd like to ask you to reproduce the issue, then share a 1Password diagnostics report from your Android device:

Send a diagnostics report (Android)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to: support@1password.com

With your email please include:

  • A link to this thread: https://www.1password.community/discussions/1password/credentials-not-saving-when-using-1password-in-google-chrome-on-android/170706
  • Your forum username: HannahS

You'll receive a reply with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can join the dots. Thanks!

Just wanted to give a quick update on this:

It turns out this was an issue tied directly to my phone's operating system version (Xiaomi). Xiaomi recently rolled out a system update that completely fixed the bug.

Once I installed the latest OS update, 1Password started saving credentials properly again. If anyone else is running into this on a similar setup, definitely check your system settings for any pending updates!

Hi @HannahS, really glad to hear it's all sorted! Thanks for taking the time to share what fixed things - it may help others running into the same issue.
