Question

CTRL+\ while 1password locked

Hi there,

Thanks for adding CTRL+\ and CMD+\ back, that was pretty much the only annoyance I had.

One question, when 1password is locked and I hit CTRL+\ to fill a form on a website (in Chrome), it opens the main 1password 8 app for me to enter my password. I enter the password, then it just displays 1Password 8 instead of filling the form

Is this known? I've not tried it on the Mac yet to see if the behaviour is the same.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm happy with the change as now 1Password looks the same across Windows and Mac.. 1PW 7 always looked ugly compared to Mac.

Just bumping for visibility, @1P_Ben ?

In addition to the above, a couple of other things I've noticed. It takes about 4-5 seconds after pressing CTRL+\ for 1Password to show when locked

Once you unlock it, its displaying the correct password but it should autofill no?

I also noticed that the browser extension remains locked intermittently too

Hey @defiant,

Thanks for the feedback.

If the fill is happening I'm thinking this must be a visual glitch. The browser extension is what is doing the actual filling, which it couldn't do if it were locked. Are you able to narrow down when you're seeing this? I'd like to try to reproduce the problem and see if I can figure out what is happening under the hood.

Yes, there are a few different cases we haven't been able to build around yet. One example we know is still outstanding is when multiple Login items match for the site you're viewing. At present the shortcut will only work when a single match exists.

Thanks for that. As someone who is most at home on macOS but uses all of the platforms I too appreciate the consistency. No doubt we're in the minority in terms of the Mac-using folks who are currently providing feedback, but in the context of our total user base I feel our opinion is going to be the more common one. I don't know that there has really been any argument that 1Password 8 isn't an improvement for Windows users, and certainly for Linux users who didn't even have a desktop 1Password app prior.

Thanks @1P_Ben

I think it is a visual glitch, I'll try replicate the circumstances to get it to show.

It doesn't autofill if 1password is locked and you press ctrl+\, I've taken a screencap showing it if that's easier. Is there a support email specific to 1password 8 so I can email it, it contains info I'd rather not post on the forum

@defiant

I'd recommend editing out any sensitive info either way, but we'd be happy to have you email us your screenshot to support+forum@1password.com. Please include a link to this thread with your message so that we can 'connect the dots.'

Thanks, have emailed

It's not "senstive" in that way.. just not something I'd share with forum, as its a video I don't have the skill to blur sections out :dizzy:

@defiant

Did you receive a support id? I do not see anything in our system when comparing your forum email address. It's only been a few minutes, so it may just be waiting to be sorted.

Hey @1P_Tommy, yup [#ZZB-85898-379]

Ah, I used my .co.nz instead of .net.nz email address that's probably why.. I forget .co.nz is my default from address
