Date INPUT field is wrongly displayed in US date format

The date INPUT field is displayed in US date format, despite my system language being set to Australian:

macOS settings:

1Password Input Field

The is being correctly DISPLAYED after saving, but this inconsistent behaviour is very risky as I entered one of my dates wrong and caused an error in booking my flight.
