Date picker doesn't allow selecting year, and is hard to use with keyboard

Hi @unikitty - Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear about the trouble that you're having. The development team are currently looking into making some fixes and improvements to the date picker.

In my testing, clicking on the date field in a Passport item for a second time closes the date picker, allowing me to type, and the contents of the field is highlighted.

The expiry date field in a Credit Card item shows a cursor in the selected field and I can type into this field and switch from month to date using the Tab key.

Can you let me know if you're seeing the same behaviour as I am?

Thanks. I get the highlight — if the second click is soon enough after the first click for macOS to count it as a double-click, thus selecting the text in the field. If you click once to bring up the date picker, pause for a second, then click again, the field is focused but there is not any indication of that.

This is what happens if you pause between the two clicks (first) and if you don't (second):

Another issue is that there is a flashing caret in the field in your GIF of an expiry date being edited, and it's not there in the date field. That makes it difficult to see which is selected if you clicked slowly, or if you started typing then got distracted.

It's also inconsistent having to hit Tab to move between month and year in an expiry date, but having it happen automatically in a date field — I'd prefer the expiry date to move automatically between fields as well.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I can see how more options for date selection while using the date picker - such as the ability to select the year - could be beneficial. I've gone ahead an submitted a feature request for additional options when using the date picker, as well as a request for more consistency when typing in date-related fields.
