Question

Deleting/renaming tags

Is there a way to delete/rename tags in 1Password 8? I want to rename a tag but it seems like what I have to do is manually edit every single entry, which is a huge pain and a regression from 1Password 7. I'm able to create a new tag (which must be done by manually editing an entry for some reason) and then drag all the items over to the new tag, but I can't figure out how to delete the old tag without manual editing.

+1 noticed this in the latest nightly build, unable to rename tags from the left menu, like one can in v7

One of the many missing features in 1PW 8.

and then drag all the items over to the new tag
I tried to drag nearly 400 entries to a tag, but only some of them had this tag afterwards. It was not clear which entries got this tag and which entries didn't.
So I removed 1Password 8, installed 1Password 7, deleted the tag and created a new one. Then I dragged all entries into this new tag, and it worked! All entries got this tag.

There is a lot to do in 1Password 8 for tag functionality. Hopefully next builds will fix or implement tag handling correctly.

I have a bunch of tags that were automatically added during an import years ago. I don't really use tags much so never did anything about them. Then 1Password 8 came out and tags take up a good portion of the UI now. So, I thought I'd remove the tags I don't need, but I can't seem to find a way to do it without editing each individual entry, which is not going to work. Any ideas? I just want to completely remove the garbage tags.
