Question

Do I need to sign up to the public beta with a separate email address?

The subject line says it all, really. When following the link in the public beta email, 1Password opens and I’m prompted to ‘sign up’. When I input my current email, it says it’s already in use. So do I have to sign up with a different email address, or am I already enrolled in the beta and using a passkey simply by opening my existing account with the beta app? I’ve not had any prompts to create a passkey but 1P sure does seem to opens much MUCH faster already, I don’t even see the FaceID prompt now, though I also cannot see passkey login as an option in the ‘security’ settings.

In the limited beta you indeed had to use a different email address, to create a new account.

Probably the same now?

Hi @Ind3X

@XIII is correct; For the Private Beta of creating and unlocking a 1Password account with a passkey, a new account has to be created and we recommend using a different email address for this account. If you don't have another email address to use, you can use email subaddressing instead (wendy*+passkey*@appleseed.com).

Those will count as a different email address in our system and allow you to sign up with the same email address as an existing 1Password account. :)
