Question

Does not autofill this banking app. Does not show "Open 1Password" or the icon.

Autofill works fine with most apps. But it ignores the "CSB business mobile banking"

  • app.
  • Only copy/paste will work. There's nothing above the keyboard: not a suggestion, nor "Open 1Password", nor the icon. That's regardless of which field I click on, in the login screen.

    While you're at it, please note that this login has THREE required entries. That's a problem in the desktop app as well. (It wouldn't auto-populate all three fields, when I last checked, but I can manually enter the missing one or two.)

    The sign-in fields are:
    * Customer ID
    * User ID
    * Password

  • Use that search term in the Play Store. NB that it's the BUSINESS app for Cambridge Savings Bank, who also has a consumer app under a similar app-publisher name.

  • 1Password Version: 8.10.38 BETA
    Extension Version: N/A
    OS Version: Android 14
    Browser: N/A

    This app (CSB Business) still doesn't work.  1Password app won't open the CSB Business app.  And the CSB Business app doesn't prompt for 1Password.  Help?  (It's been two years since I reported this.)

    Hello @Netpog! 👋

    I'm sorry for the delay in responding, one of the colleagues has tested the app that you mentioned and it looks like the app may have intentionally turned off the ability for password managers to fill logins since no suggestions or autofill options are appearing at all. Sometimes banks will turn off features because they believe that it will increase security: An open letter to banks

    I recommend reaching out to the app's support team so that they can advise further. If there's any information required from the 1Password end of things, let me know.

    Thanks, @1P_Dave, for your reply.  And that's a nice letter.  What IS it with banks?  Pershing Bank, for example, requires exactly 8-character passwords.

    But I suspect this to be a bug, rather than a security misfeature.  Their website works fine with 1Password.

    I will try to reach someone at this bank who can deal with this app.  I won't mention the website, lest I inspire them to break it, as well.
