Editing an existing item isn't "creating"

This was seen using 1Password 8.10.82 on macOS...

  1. Open 1Password
  2. Search for an existing login item
  3. Select the item
  4. Click on Edit
  5. Change the password
  6. Click on Save

The result is a small bubble at the bottom "Item created in Personal (View)".

It is an existing item. It wasn't created, it was updated (or changed, or edited, or saved).

You can see the same thing if you just click Edit and then Save without changing anything.

Hi @mschmitt,

I wanted to let you know that this should be fixed in 1Password 8.11.4, released today. Please give it a try and let us know if you're still running into the bug or not!

Hello @mschmitt! 👋

Thanks for the report! I see the same message and I agree that it isn't accurate. I've filed an internal work item with our development team so that they can take a look.

I appreciate you taking the time to flag this to us.

Verified, now there's no message when you edit/save an existing item. That's OK with me.
