Excessive prompts to update password after "Fill code from messages"

I'm sorry that you're being prompted to update your password after filling a verification code from Apple Messages. So that we can get this fixed, could you please send the page structure of the webpage in question to our support team? Follow these steps:

1. Open the website in question until you can see the verification code field that you're referring to.
2. Right-click on the page and click "1Password - Password Manager" > Help > Collect Page Structure.

Attach the resulting JSON file to an email message addressed to support+forum@1password.com.

With your email please include:

Thank you very much for your offer to help. In this instance the problematic webpages contain confidential information. On that basis I must decline to produce a JSON file that may accidentally share this confidential information. Even I gave you links to the affected webpages, you could not follow them without a Merrill Lynch login. I was hoping for a 1Password setting that could be modified, but it seems from context that this is not to be. The only suggestion I could make is to see if one of your colleagues has a Merrill Lynch online account that will demo the feature.

BTW, the issue is unique to Mac Safari, in which 1Password can be set up to be filled with authorization codes automatically. In Chrome it is much less bothersome. Even in Chrome, however, 1Password prompts to save the authorization code as an updated login, which makes no sense because the authorization code changes with each login. If there is any way this behavior could be removed from 1Password, it would be an improvement.

I completely understand not wanting to send in the page structure JSON. The team will try to find a way to reproduce this issue so that we can update 1Password's filling brain. Thanks again for reporting the issue.

The only workaround that I can suggest is to turn off 1Password's auto-save feature however this would apply to all websites and to regular password changes as well:

1. Right click the 1Password icon in your browser's toolbar and choose Settings.
2. Click on Autofill & save in the lefthand menu.
3. Toggle off "Offer to save logins".

Thanks. I normally value the "offer to save logins" option, so am loathe to disable it for my one problem site. Please let me know if you have a solution. Probably too much to ask for, but would it be possible to modify "offer to save logins" to exempt specific sites?

Thanks for the reply. As a workaround for now, try the following on the affected webpage:

1. Right-click anywhere on the web page.
2. Select "1Password", then choose "Hide on this page".

This will hide 1Password from the affected webpage while still allowing you to use all of 1Password's features on other websites.
