Feature request: automatically select existing text in search field

I keep accidentally appending to my previous search instead of searching for a new term, because Ctrl-F in the Windows app behaves differently than in previously releases. It used to automatically select the existing search text, like all popular apps do (such as Google Chrome, Visual Studio Code, etc.). But sometime in the last few months it started recalling the previous search term and extending it with what I type. So I'm constantly searching for things like "previous new" when I just want to search for "new".
