Field fill popups are incorrect, but universal autofill is correct

I've noticed there are situations where the field fill popups input the wrong information, but universal autofill gets it right. For example, on Discord.com, using the field fill popups inserts my username, even though the field says "Email or phone number." However, if I use universal autofill, the email address is inserted correctly. Is there some way to correct this behavior?
