Find entries with an exact match for an email address.

I'm sorry that you're running into trouble while searching for an email address. The cause of the issue here is likely a known issue in 1Password 8's search that our developers are investigating. A search term with a symbol in it (such as a period) will be broken into components and then 1Password 8 will display results for each component rather than for the search term as a whole. Our developers are looking into this and I've added your report to our internal work item for the issue.

shows a way to find an item in the current list only (Option-Command-F) but doing this acutally crashes my 1Password.

That definitely doesn't sound right. Can you please reproduce the crash one more time and then I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Mac:

About the crashing, I noticed that it doesn't really crash the app, but all UI elements dissappear. Which in the end leads to the same result for me (having to close and reopen the app).
I have sent the diagnostics report as instructed, including some descriptions and a screen recording (no private information recorded).

It's still unclear to me / seemingly not possible to search for an exact email address in the macOS application. If I search for "name@example.org", then unfortunately "name.lastname@another.example.org" entries also show up in the search results, and even some "name@example.com" entries in my case.

My password manager is my knowledge database for all my online accounts, and it needs to have a semi-robust/powerful search function. Yes, I know nowadays everything has to dumbed down as much as possible, but please look into this. As a work-around for now when I use the search in the Firefox extension, it works a lot better. But, not really great, as the desktop application in general is nicer to use.
