Finding Watchtower doesn't find all Passkeys or Two Factor logins, and the influence of browser bookmarks.

I have been working down my duplicated passwords using Watchtower, which is a good way to structure one’s cleanup of passwords & such. In doing so, and having a look at Passkeys and Two factor authentication I realize there are many of my passwords that either have a non 1Password passkey or actually do have me on Two factor authentication but not recognized by 1Password. 

So I will stay at this point, having found lots of trouble trying to convert non-1Password security to 1Password security. The real goal is to increase security in known ways. I care about my security but I am not concerned when 1Password misses some of what I do.

My view is that this stems from 1Password being designed for members who have no internet logons. It is true that many of my Google Password Manager items came over without a problem, but those that were problematic could be very troublesome. Also, it is important to test the browser bookmark that calls the site- I have had to go back and redo work on sites for that reason. 1Password doesn’t provide a browser bookmark replacement (it can’t because there are many browsers) but what is in the browser bookmark can influence the username, password, and especially the web site that 1Password applies the info to.
